Our First Event

This past Sunday, August 30th, we made it to our first event via an invite from Lil' Balikbayan. Due to a post shared by Teofilo Coffee Company regarding my book available at the store, the creators of Lil' Balikbayan found me! The universe delivers when you just work hard and start taking risks.

I am so thankful that Ron from Teofilo agreed to put my book on display :) It allowed me to meet supermoms, Julie and Michele from Lil' Balikbayan. They had asked me to be their Guest Author and reserved a spot for me at their booth. I was a little unprepared because I didn't have books on-hand to sell at the event. But Julie reassured me that I could still promote my book and drive people to the website. So I thought about handing out some bookmarks to advertise my website :)

Anyways, I was glad we were able to go to LA's Manila District to participate in that event. My son and husband also had fun drinking buko juice and eating some bomb Filipino food and desserts. I am also thankful that my cousins Grace and her family came out for support <3

We are looking forward to attending more. Because of the pandemic, I know these events are more of a rare thing nowadays. But I'm glad we were able to practice social distancing and everyone (with my son's exception) wore masks at the event. I also made sure I had some hand sanitizers on hand.
